God is Greater than My Ups and Downs
Pray In.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” — Hebrews 13:8 (NLT)
The Reflection
Life is full of highs and lows. Some days feel steady and confident. Other days feel uncertain, heavy, or overwhelming. Our emotions rise and fall based on circumstances, outcomes, and expectations — but God does not.
God is greater than our ups and downs. Off the field, it’s easy to let our faith rise and fall with how life is going. When things are good, trust feels easy. When things are hard, doubt creeps in. When plans work out, we feel strong. When they don’t, we feel shaken.
But Scripture reminds us that God’s character is constant, even when our emotions are not. God is not more present on our good days or less faithful on our hard ones. He is steady when life feels unstable.
A Steady God in an Unsteady World
God’s love doesn’t change with our performance. His presence doesn’t disappear when we struggle. His promises aren’t weakened by our doubts. When life feels like a series of ups and downs, faith means anchoring ourselves to what does not move. God is greater than:
- our best moments
- our worst days
- our confidence
- our fear
Take It With You
- Feelings change. God does not.
- Circumstances shift. God remains steady.
- Faith isn’t about avoiding lows — it’s about trusting God through them.
When life feels unbalanced, return to what is unchanging.
