MOTIVATIONAL MINUTE - TIMING
Share
Early, On-Time, and Late - what’s the difference?
Section 1
Pray In.
“So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.”
1 Peter 5:6 NLT
Discussion:
What does it mean to be on time?
Is it better to be early or on time?
How about with batting? What happens if you are early, on-time, or late?
What about homework and projects at school?
Who has chores at home? Do you get them done early, on-time, or late? What happens if they aren’t done at all?
Reminder:
Rarely is being late a good thing (unless maybe to hit to the opposite field, haha). Being early gives you an advantage to get more done and be ahead of schedule. Since early isn’t always an option especially since none of you are driving, then be on-time.
Being on-time shows 2 critical character traits:
- Respect - when you are on-time it shows that you value what you are about to do whether it is homework, warm-ups or practice.
- Responsibility - on-time shows that you can handle additional responsibilities like leading a section of practice or warmups.

Section 2
Pray In.
“So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.”
1 Peter 5:6 NLT
Discussion:
Describe God’s timing.
In your life, have you witnessed God’s perfect timing?
Discuss this verse:
“There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven” (Ecclesiastes 3:1 )
Reminder:
According to the Bible, God's timing is the perfect moment when He has ordained for something to happen, and it is different from our own timeline or desires. God's timing is rooted in His will and perfect plan, and we should trust in it.
